Course Times

Sunday 7:00 am – 9:00 pm

Monday – Wednesday 8:00 am – 6:15 pm

Thursday 8:00 am – 5:30pm

Arrival and Departure: 

We request you to arrive between 3:00pm and 5:00pm on Sunday afternoon. This will allow you the time necessary to access the training site (there are a number of security checks to go through), meet other participants, take the chance to unpack, settle in and be ready for the start of the course.  As the venue can be quite hard to locate, we offer organised transport to the venue from the Ibis hotel, Amman.

Location & Accommodation: 

This course is residential.  The training and venue and accommodation are held at King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center Yajouz St.Socom, Amman, Jordan.

Participants are accommodated in dormitory style rooms.  If you require additional accommodation prior to the course, or the day the course finishes, we recommend you book a room at the Ibis Amman Hotel.

Transport to/from the location: 

We advise you not to book transportation until you have been confirmed registered and paid for the course to avoid incurring additional costs. 

When booking transport please allow sufficient time to get to/from the venue.   The entrance to the venue can be a little difficult to locate, so please ensure you have studied a map prior to arrival or that your taxi driver is aware of the location before departing.  For some nationalities it is important to have a visa in place, or agreed, prior to travel to Jordan.  Please ensure you make all the arrangements for this well in advance of the course. Please note the cancellation terms which apply even if you do not receive your visa and have to cancel. 

Meals & Dietary Requirements: 

All meals will be taken communally with facilitators and other participants starting with dinner on Sunday and finishing with lunch on Thursday. Coffee, tea and water will be available during breaks each day. Special dietary requirements will be accommodated, we charge a £45 fee for any dietary requirements which are not specified on the registration form.


You will be trained by field-experienced security professionals who specialise and understand working in humanitarian and development contexts. They will aim to ensure that your learning is as realistic and relevant as possible to the context and risks you will face in the work you do. The training will be highly interactive and require full participation in order for you to draw the most benefit from it.

Fees vary according to number of participants being registered and type of organisation/individual. Please contact us at operations@saferedge.com to find out more information on cost.

Additional Costs:

There might be other costs that you, or your organisation, need to consider.

  • Course fees do not cover airfare or travel to/from the training venue. 

  • Visas or other documentation is not included in the course fee and is the responsibility of the participant.

Terms & Conditions:

Participants recognise that all participation is voluntary. Payment is due in full upon registration and no place is confirmed until payment has been made. This applies to both individuals and organisations.  

Cancellation & Refund:

Individuals and organisations are fully responsible for investigating and understanding any visas or documentation required to attend the course in the location advertised. If visas or other documentation are not forthcoming, the regular cancellation and refund details below apply.  If participants wish to cancel due to not receiving a visa they must do so two weeks prior to the course or face the cancellation penalties.

Cancellation must be confirmed in writing 15 days before the start date of the booked course to receive a FULL refund. Alternatively, you can transfer to another course or substitute a colleague for no extra charge.


Cancellation in writing 8-14 days before the start date of the course - only 50% of the course fee paid will be refunded.  Alternatively, you can transfer to another course within one calendar year of the cancelation or substitute a colleague. In both events an additional sum equal to 25% of the course fee will be payable.


Cancellation in writing 0-7 days before the start of the course or non attendance - no refund will be given. No transfer to another course or substitution of a colleague is possible at this late stage.​

No-shows (failing to attend) will result in 100% of the course being charged.
