Hostile Environment Awareness Training (Re-HEAT)
Learning is perishable and skill sets learned once need to be reactivated to ensure that the learner is still able to understand and apply their previous learning. Re-HEAT is a 2-day, residential course designed for those who have previously been on a HEAT course and are still working in challenging, remote or hostile regions. Re-HEAT helps them update their skills to respond in environments which have evolved since their last training. Safer Edge recommends a Re-HEAT training three years after completion of the initial HEAT course.
Re-HEAT participants are reminded to recognise, assess and avoid risks as well as appropriate responses. The course is designed to be informative and enjoyable without covering the ground they initially learned on their first HEAT. These two days combine combining practical challenges with relevant and updated theory. Expert trainers who are practitioners with field experience give participants the confidence and skills to operate outside their normal comfort zones.
