How can a women's security course be for everyone? Isn't it just for women?
Every person's safety is a priority no matter their gender. But, we know that gender does play a role in violence and crime that has to be considered. Some people may even be more vulnerable than women due to being transgender or LGBTQ+. Our course considers this and the learning applies to people of every gender. Men, or those who identify with a non-traditional gender, will learn how gender plays a role in their own safety and that of their colleagues. No one is safe until we all are safe.
What do you mean by e-Learning?
E-Learning is a specific type of online learning where participants are able to engage with the course through quizzes, activities, scenarios, and a range of media. E-learning is different from remote training (such as through Skype or Zoom) and online videos or slides.
How long do I have to complete the course?
We realise that different people learn at different speeds and each of us will have different circumstances which influence how quickly we can complete the course. We encourage everyone to the course within a month. However, each course purchased will remain on Safer Edge Learn for a year.
I have a very poor internet connection. Can I still take Women's Security for Everyone?
Yes! Using our iOS and Android apps, participants can download the Women's Security for Everyone modules when they have access to internet, complete it offline and their progress will automatically sync when they reconnect to the internet.
Can different staff in the same organisation take different types of online HEAT courses?
Absolutely! We offer 2 types of online Womens' Security for Everyone (online and blended) to offer organisations more options for training more staff who need it. The type of course chosen will depend on your budget, location and availability but you have assurance that all staff are reaching the same learning objectives.
Our organisation would like to enrol a large number of staff. How do we do that?
If your organisation has 5, or more, people you wish to register for this course, we can easily register them in bulk. We offer discounts for all groups over 5. Contact Safer Edge directly at email@example.com to register or learn more.

Why Women's Security for Everyone E-Learning?
COVID-19 has provided the safety and security sector with the opportunity to re-think how we train people who work in some of the most difficult environments in the world.
For too long, traditional women's security courses have been out-of-step with the humanitarian and development sector and not reflective of our values. We believe that online Women's Security for Everyone provides organisations with a tremendous opportunity to take steps toward equitable security while continuing to fulfil their duty of care.
Traditional, in-person security courses are expensive, require time out of work, travel costs, are only available to specific staff at certain times. This has meant that most organisations are providing a gold standard service to a handful of employees while those who face the sharpest end of risk receive little-to-no training or training not contextualised to their location or language.
WS4E enables organisations to provide high-standard training to all of their employees no matter where they are located and to do it affordably.
Women's Security for Everyone was created by a multi-lingual women-led Learning and Development team with over 50 years cumulative international travel and security experience. All Safer Edge courses provide a learner framework which guides students through the modules, inclusive and diverse content, trauma-sensitive approach, knowledge checks for learning and the option to repeat segments.
Safer Edge is a UK-based, risk management company that works exclusively with social sector organisations like non-profits, charities, the UN, NGOs, and foundations. Safer Edge is a leading supplier of HEAT courses.
